Just left our visit with Nurik today. He is still not feeling great and we got a little bit of crying but at least with that came lots of comforting. He let us hold him alot and the room was just about at its hottest today so this was uncomfortable for all. He was ready to get out of that room at the end of our time and so were we.....the very cold chill in the air never felt so good.
Masha let us know that the judge only wanted our papers by tomorrow so that he could review them so the actual court date is not until March 6th. Masha had mentioned that she thought our court date was really quick so apparently it was.......just a miscomunication, we guess. Good thing we have been told over and over again that things change and you just have to go with the flow. So, our 16 day waiting period will not start until the 6th of March and then we still have the other paperwork and visit to Almaty. So, it will definitely be first part of April, we predict, before we can start home. Good thing is that we get to see Nurik everyday until Court so another full week of quality time. After court, we will only see him every other day per their rules. God is definitely continuing to teach us patience and flexibility. We really are doing fine though and feel rather irresponsible most days because we lay around alot and watch sports and read.....We feel like we should be doing something but with the weather such as it is, not much else to do. So, I guess you can still continue to pray for good court appearance on the 6th but maybe start praying for spring like weather so we can get out and see the town and walk around although we do plenty of walking anyway not including the 76 steps up to our apartment. Oi veh! Love you guys, just wanted to fill you in on the breaking news! K-Pat

You are handling all that better than I would...although feeling irresponsible must be a grand thing. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Well, I'm sorry that court is not tomorrow. We will continue to pray for the upcoming court date. I enjoyed the photos. I hate that Nicholas is still feeling bad. Hope you all don't get sick. There has been alot of stuff going around. We have stayed healthy other than allergies. I've been the evil mother regarding WASHING your hands. Cousin Scott called to check on ya'll. They have been keeping up with the blog. I told him he needing to post a note. Ha!He wanted to know alot of the answers you put in the blog today about the rest of your time there. Remember Don & Pat on Friday, Pat is having her surgery that day. Well, I'm off to get Zach from school. Hang in there. John & Karen Stewart put it right-God will give you the patience and what you need for each day to get through the rest of your kaz-adventure. Sent with lots of hugs and kisses for Nicholas.
Love ya'll

Hi, just following your journey and wanted to wish you the best! It is hard to go with the flow in Kaz but it is exactly what you have to do! The only thing constant there was change (to arrangements and plans again and again) however it is so worth it (you don't need us to tell you that do you?!?!?!) We adopted our son from Almaty region last April (we were in country April - June, 9 weeks in total) it is an experience of a lifetime! It is wonderful to see your relationship develop with your little man! He is very very cute. It is also lovely to see another little Kaz cutie get ready to come home!
Warm regards

Hi Pat and Karen,
I work with Julie at preschool and have been enjoying keeping track of your progress. Your son is beautiful. Hang in there and enjoy your free time while you have it. Any parent will tell you that once you get home, free time with just the two of you will be a distant memory. God's blessings to all three of you.
Hey guys! I again, haven't checked in a couple of days and am loving to read all about your new family. I feel so bad for you having to lie around and read--are you crazy? Enjoy it:) You know we love you--we are praying for you too! God is so good! Take care of yourselves--don't get too cold Pat. Love, The Douglas Family
