The United Nations..................

We have decided that we are now the UN or NATO as we constantly do negotiations between the Americans and the Kazak. We find that when he actually understands us.....he always makes the right choice. We realize that for more than 4 weeks we were his play buddies so now to establish authority is quite interesting but he is starting to get it and the biting and hitting has decreased. He is still amusing us minute by minute with his antics. Last night, we were truly the Kaz Spa. Nick likes his tummy and backed rubbed while trying to fall asleep and last night he had his feet propped up on my legs so I started rubbing a foot. Well, he thought this was rather nice so he said Papa! and pointed to his other foot. So, there we sat giving our son a full body spa massage. Too cute. I am sure he really craves touch and we are more than happy to oblige.....much better than hitting.

I am feeling better and we are just trying to take one day at a time. It is very special to have this time with Nick undisturbed but I would just rather put a sign outside the door of our own home. It is more of a goat rodeo here with all of the non-kid friendly access here. They make counters really low here and he can reach almost everything and this apartment has no cabinets. And the only have china! Plus, all of the light switches are on his level...ugh! But, again some negotiations are working and we have creatively piled everything on the dorm size fridge (taller but same width and depth...it comes to about my chest).

Hope everyone is enjoying the spring. I can't wait to see the Dogwood trees when we get home. Maybe Nick will help us finally plant flowers this year. It is still rather cold here so not much fun to play out accept for a brisk walk (well, as brisk as you can take with a 3 year old)
Love to all! K-Pat and Nick
